Established in 1975 under the Western Ghats Development Program, Aattapadi tribal farm focused on uplifting 420 tribal families in Kerala's Attappadi region through targeted coffee & spices cultivation. By prioritizing coffee farming and employing agroforestry, the project aimed to provide a sustainable income source which enhance their quality of life, while also contributing to the preservation of the Western Ghats's ecological balance aligning with the broader objective of preserving this unique UNESCO World Heritage Site which is located between the Silent valley wildlife sanctuary
